The finishing touches on an amazing project

Phases Four will complete the revitalization of the GND REC and required City of Duluth action.

Key Facilities:
  • Improving traffic safety

101st Avenue West goes through the center of the GND REC. In order to make this facility as amazing as possible, the GND Development Alliance, at GNDDA expense, has had Northland Engineering Consultants redesign the street to improve safety and ADA access.  The engineer drawings have been provided to the City to take action. Reconstructing the street will put the finishing touches on the GND REC, greatly improve safety and access, and will complete this amazing community project. 

A wooded area adjacent to the dog park, which is currently tax forfeited land, has the potential to be re-purposed into a combination a variety of recreational amenities including a wilderness walking trail area.

SUCCESS! We met and succeeded our target for our matching challenge grant.  It is humbling how giving our community is and we greatly appreciate all who donated.

We value and take pride in our community and each of its members, education, physical activity, and our environment, those who promote positive actions and give back to our community and appreciate the opportunity to have fun as we promote service in our community and strong personal relationships between its members.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

The GND Community Center and Recreation Area is dedicated to providing a place to be used by members of the community for social, cultural, learning and recreational purposes.

The community is in a period of transition with many new people moving to the community. The GND REC provides the catalyst for bringing the community together, benefiting young people and seniors alike while instilling an overall sense of pride throughout the community.
