Brews & Boards Fundraiser Recap

Brews & Boards, a major fundraiser to support the building of the skatepark at the GND REC, was conducted on 9 June 2022 at the fabulous Lake Superior Railroad Museum. The event featured unique skateboard art by local and nationally known artists, including but not limited to; Tim Cortes, Todd Bratrud, Adam Swanson, Emily Koch, and Michelle Wegler, that was available via an online auction.  Live and silent auctions were also conducted.  Former Duluth Mayor, Don Ness was the keynote speaker. Craft beer and wine sampling and fabulous hors-d’oeuvres were provided.

The fabulous venue and the very diverse crowd of attendees, with people from all walks of life, truly made Brews & Boards a special night.

Thank you to all the artists, vendors, and individuals who donated items for the silent and live auctions, catering, beer and wine sampling, the Lake Superior Railroad Museum for hosting the night in such an outstanding venue and all the wonderful volunteers who made the event such an outstanding success.

WHERE ARE WE NOW?

We value and take pride in our community and each of its members, education, physical activity and our environment, those who promote positive actions and give back to our community, and appreciate the opportunity to have fun as we promote service in our community and strong personal relationships between its members.

Because of the incredible generosity of the Duluth community and beyond, we have raised the following in cash and in kind contributions of labor, services and materials.  Our citizens, businesses, trade unions, foundations and the City of Duluth have been truly amazing in their support.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

The GND Community Center and Recreation Area is dedicated to providing a place to be used by members of the community for social, cultural, learning and recreational purposes.

The community is in a period of transition with many new people moving to the community. The GND REC provides the catalyst for bringing the community together, benefiting young people and seniors alike while instilling an overall sense of pride throughout the community.

We can’t get this project completed without your help!
