Senior Lunch

On May 1, 2023, the senior lunch at the GND REC was attended by almost 80 people.  John Magas, Superintendent of ISD 709, spoke on the strong partnership between the GND REC and Stowe Elementary School.  Heidi Rudstrum, the YMCA exercise coordinator, talked about the exercise classes that are taught and the social activities outside of the classes that have developed as a result of the friendships built at the classes.  Mark Boben, GND Development Alliance, spoke on the progress made since the GND REC project started in 2013.

We have a great team of volunteers led by Fran, Voni, Marybeth, 3 Kathys, Kim, Jill, Bob, Frank, Tom, Jerry, and Ken. Gary Schneider Catering provided the meal featuring his world famous meatloaf.

The GND REC is more than a park; it is the family center of the community. Thank you to all who made the event a success, including all that attended

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

The GND Community Center and Recreation Area is dedicated to providing a place to be used by members of the community for social, cultural, learning and recreational purposes.

The community is in a period of transition with many new people moving to the community. The GND REC provides the catalyst for bringing the community together, benefiting young people and seniors alike while instilling an overall sense of pride throughout the community.

We can’t get this project completed without your help!
